Exterior door coating
© ADLER

Particularly as an exposed element, the front door nat- urally makes very high demands of the topcoat. ADLER Protor has been specially developed further to meet these needs. The latest generation boasts tremendous scratch resistance and extreme hardness. The surface of the paint is almost equivalent to that of car paints and easily withstands mechanical loads caused by a bunch of keys or from being kicked, for instance. Be- sides offering outstanding protection against weath- ering and UV radiation, the strengths of Aquawood Protor-Finish NG lie in its further improved resistance to cream and grease and outstanding alkali resistance. With the new generation, ADLER has managed to unite apparent opposites: despite the greater hardness, the film elasticity is improved, for example. That means that the paint can adapt better to natural changes in the substrate caused by changing weather conditions. Cracks and peeling areas can thus be largely prevent- ed. And even though the pot life has been extended to between 5 and 6 hours, the paint dries in record time and cures faster. The front doors achieve anti-blocking properties in no time at all and can be stacked on top of each other. This makes the Protor system particularly efficient for users.

Aquawood Protor-Finish ensures outstanding durability. The new generation impresses due to its easy and efficient processing and further improved hardness and resistance - even on previously problematic substrates like oak or tropical timbers.

The front door is the optical calling card of a house and one of the most important architectural design ele- ments of the façade. That means: it should shine! For this purpose, there is the Aquawood Protor System with iridescent effect: Aquawood Protor-Finish Pearl gives the front door the sheen that it deserves. With the de- velopment of Aquawood Protor-Finish Pearl, ADLER re- acted to the request made by many customers that the Protor front door coating should also come with a metal- lic effect. As aluminium flakes cannot be used as usual  with this system for chemical reasons, it was not so easy to put this into practice. So the ADLER development team had to come up with something else. The solu- tion is a modified pearlescent lustre pigment, which provides a particularly elegant sheen – in a wide range of colours. This gleaming configuration of Aquawood Protor naturally also boasts the familiar good proper- ties of the front door coating: scratch resistance, hard- ness, protection against weathering and UV radiation and particularly important: easy processability.

Aquawood Protor-Finish Pearl is given modified pearlescent lustre pigments, thus ensuring elegant metallic effects.
