Specialist in creating beautiful pieces

A carpenter and a goldsmith are not so dissimilar: both mould their raw material to perfection – and polish it to achieve a beautiful shine! Small joinery company Snoeck & Co from Hamburg has set itself the goal of getting the best out of wood as a material: Pascal Snoeck and his team of eight specialise in high-quality, upmarket interior fittings and particularly enjoy developing individual prototypes and one-off pieces entirely according to customer requirements. Just like pieces of gold – yet sometimes they shine like brass too.

Tricolour trio

When he received an order from the well-known tax and commercial law firm YPOG, Pascal Snoeck quickly realised that a design for the "Law Firm of the Year 2023" would have to be something very special! The law firm, which specialises in funds, tax, banking + finance and transactions, was relocating its Hamburg office to the city centre – to be more precise, to floors 12 to 15 of the recently renovated TRIIIO building. In keeping with this, the centrepiece of the collaboration, an almost ten-metre-long "community table", was to be designed as a "trio" – consisting of three height-adjustable pedestal tables. A design concept was developed for the shape and colour scheme that was precisely tailored to the conditions in the room. Because the colour scheme – and therefore the surface quality – is a particularly important factor for Snoeck. "We painted the pedestal bases with Aduro Pigmocolor 4in1 to match the colour codes of the table top material," explains the surface-savvy and innovative designer, who has already expressed his satisfaction under the hashtag "#ichliebemeineLacke" (meaning "I love my paints").

Dynamic duo

Because his paints and varnishes are products from ADLER in distant Tyrol – Snoeck can rely on them to meet his high standards. And the support he gets from the ADLER team is just as reliable, this time in a more tangible sense: ADLER field sales representative Reiner Judaschke picked up the paint spray gun himself to coat the second jewel in the law practice, together with the boss: a four-metre-long counter in a brass look. "We painted the laminated wood mouldings filled with Aduro Ecofill together using Bluefin Pure-Metal with the addition of Aquafix Messing and Aqua-Hardener so that we could coat the entire surface in one go and avoid the occurrence of clouding," says the "assistant painter", who is still delighted with the unusual surface, one that not many people would have dared to attempt.

Prima Primo

The brass finish was then highly polished in several rounds of sanding and finally coated with the silk-matt clear varnish PUR-Strong: "On the one hand, to bring out the charm of the brass even more, and on the other, as protection for everyday use," explains Snoeck. This centrepiece serves as a private bar for the law firm's exclusive events and its unique and distinctive look shows that the extra effort put into the paintwork was worth it. The Snoeck & Co team spare no effort to make their customers happy. Even if, as in this case, it involves the extremely strenuous task of transporting the wooden elements up to the 15th floor, something that had to be done manually due to their size ...
